In addition to work visas, Singapore offers various types of non-work visas to support the family needs of foreign professionals, ensuring that their spouses, children, and parents can live with them and enjoy life in Singapore. These visas include:

  • Dependent Pass
  • Long Term Visit Pass (LTVP)
  • Suitable For: The Dependent Pass is available for the spouses and children of Employment Pass (EP) holders.
  • Requirements: Applicants must be the legal spouse or child (under 21 years old) of an EP holder. The validity of the Dependent Pass aligns with the validity of the EP, meaning that it is typically issued for the same duration as the EP.
  • Features: Dependent Pass holders are allowed to reside in Singapore for the duration of the EP holder's stay. Spouses on a Dependent Pass are permitted to seek employment in Singapore, provided they obtain an appropriate work pass, such as EP, SP or WP.

The Long Term Visit Pass is divided into several categories to cater to various dependent needs:

1.Spouse Long Term Visit Pass: 

  • Suitable For: This pass is for the spouses of Singaporean citizens or Permanent Residents (PRs).
  • Requirements: The applicant must be married to a Singaporean citizen or PR. Proof of marriage and other relevant documentation are required.

2.Parent Long Term Visit Pass:

  • Suitable For: This pass is for the parents of Employment Pass (EP) holders or Singapore PRs.
  • Requirements: The EP or PR holder must meet a specific salary threshold to sponsor their parents. The application must include evidence of the relationship and the EP or PR holder's ability to support their parents financially.

3.Student's Pass Dependant Pass

  • Suitable For: This pass is for the dependents of children holding a student visa who are under 16 years old.
  • Requirements: A student’s dependent pass can be applied for by one direct relative, such as a father, mother, grandfather, or grandmother. The application must be renewed annually.
